We could not get lodging inside GC so we stayed at the Cameron Trading Post (about 30 minutes from the eastern entrance to GC south rim) VERY nice place to stay-- all handmade furniture, huge rooms and only $89 a night-- Anyways-- yes, spend the night closer to GC and/MV and keep Cameron in mind for lodging.
